In the beginning...

Twenty-two years ago Mike, brother Rob Bob Dude, and Stevie Bam-Bam Urbon, gave birth to the dream of American Steal, together in a Northeast Ohio basement using a pool stick as a microphone stand for the $5.95 Radio Shack microphone the boy's created music., or as their parents claimed excessive noise! The music was raw and filled with a unique energy even with the limitation of the home entertainment system that doubled as the bands PA. The young band feverishly wrote and performed for whoever would listen.

AMERICAN STEALS newest CD
"COME TO MY TOWN"

Two years went by, reality, bills and women finally intruded. The boys disgusted by the club owners demands for bands to be copy bands, parked ASB's rusted out Custom Cruiser Station Wagon, put away the instruments and original music and began the long break...

Well folks going against the wisdom of wives and friends, the boy's, now men reunited 20 years later at Moondog Studio in Kent to cut tracks for the very successful local CD "Still Alive & Kicking". Realizing the fun they were having the men made the decision that changed their lives and decided for once to finish a full American Steal CD. Understanding the need for additional inspiration, Matt Moore was signed for his vocal ability, Fred "Fingers" Franks (The Master of Disaster) jumped in on keyboards and vocals, Jim Lyons on Bass, and Rockin "RD" DeMiglio on "ATOMIC" lead.

The new band minus Atlanta bound Bob, armed themselves with plenty of Aspirin, pizza and adult beverages and began recording the new songs and sound of a new age of American Steal. A year and a half later, the band proudly presents "It's Hard to Hide the Heroes", a stunning and imaginative chapter in our nations musical history and the ASB legacy.

Finally for those of you who lost the dream of American Steal...Yes Virginia and Haubs there really was and is a golden garage band named American Steal, which has been re-ignited.

Ladies and gentlemen, grab your seat belts and hold on! American Steal is back to ROCK YOUR WORLD! America "Lets Roll On"

All songs were arranged, written, and performed by the members of American Steal. BUY THE COMPLETE CD AT MIKE'S PLACE, or e-mail the band at: yikesplace@aol.com
